As per the statement given by the platform Monson died after battling long with health issues. The well known personality had a cardiac event on Thursday, December 29 and was hospitalized.
News of his sudden demise came on December 31, 2022 and he suffered from underlying health issues over the years and suffered a cardiac arrest on December 29 after which he was hospitalized.

The veteran host was brought up in Ballard, Seattle. During his time in the University of Washington, he worked as the Husky football as well as the play-by-play announcer.
Later, he started broadcasting professionally when he started working at KING-TV. At the time, he started his career via being a sports producer, later he became a sports reporter and then host.
In 1994 he switched the stations and related to KIRO-FM 100.7. A year after switching with KIRO, Monson was given his own show on the platform and his time was decided to be in the afternoon.
